Privacy Policy

INTRODUCTION
ListenUp@ LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a web-based application (“ListenUp@ app”) that facilitates communication between individuals and elected officials through social media. 
 
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information when individuals use the ListenUP@ app. 
 
INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT
To use the ListenUp@ app, users must voluntarily provide their home address. We collect this information for the purpose of matching the user to their elected representatives and the elected representative’s social media handles, providing users with a sample social media message to their elected representatives, and to diagnose errors or bugs related to this purpose that may arise from time-to-time. 
 
In addition, the ListenUp@ app collects some additional information that includes your internet protocol (IP) address, the region or general location where your computer or device is accessing the internet, browser type, operating system and other usage information including the particular ListenUp@ app version you visited. We also collect anonymous information that we use to help diagnose problems with our server and to track web traffic on our site. 
 
We do not analyze, share, or use this information for any purpose other than those stated here.
 
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We contract with third-party services to perform the purpose outlined above. These third-party services access your information only as needed to perform their services for ListenUp@. We vet third-party vendors carefully and only use reputable firms that use verifiable data security and privacy best practices. Current third-party vendors that handle some or all of the above information are Google Cloud (matching user address with legislators, temporary storage of data); GitHub (the app code); Cloudflare (host server for the ListenUp@ app). 
 
SHARING OF INFORMATION
We and the third-party services we use do not sell or share any user information provided to us. 
 
DATA RETENTION
User data is stored on Google Cloud for up to thirty days and is then deleted. 
 
DATA SECURITY
We implement reasonable safeguards to protect personal information transmitted to us, including ensuring that third-party services comply with the latest industry data security best practices. However, you acknowledge that no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
 
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date.
